Owen Reed is looking to recruit a motivated and professional HR Advisor to join a top law firm in London.
Reports to:Recruitment Manager and HR Business Partner/s
Hours:9.30am – 5.30pm (flexibility will be required)
Job Summary:
To provide client-focused recruitment support to the Recruitment Manager and generalist HR support to HR Business Partners (both fee earner and business services client groups)
Main duties and responsibilities
- To act as a role model within the team and as an ambassador for the department, proactively developing effective working relationships across the firm.
- Managing the end-to-end recruitment processes for all hires across the Business Support teams.
- To assist with ad hoc requests for information from all members of the firm relating to HR issues e.g. policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment etc.
Recruitment
- Working alongside the Recruitment Manager, ensuring a collaborative and consistent approach within the recruitment function and always maintaining the highest level of service to all stakeholders and best practice
- Work with hiring managers to identify skill sets; where required, test validity and comprehensiveness of job descriptions.
- Conduct initial screening and review CVs for suitability.
- Advise on selection tools (including online testing and case studies).
- Scheduling interviews and responses for internal and external communications throughout hire.
- Holding competency-based interviews.
- Acting as the main point of contact for all direct applicants and external recruitment agencies and the roles you are responsible for.
- Establish and maintain excellent internal relationships with key stakeholders in Business Support functions and hiring managers and regularly updating them on the progress of vacancies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with business services recruitment agencies – provide updates on role pipeline.
- Attending agency events and briefings throughout the year.
- Briefing agencies via email/telephone on vacancies as they arise.
- Providing feedback to direct applicants and agencies with diplomacy and in a timely manner.Support and challenge hiring managers constructively on selection decisions at interview and offer stage.
- Highlight visa applications and related immigration processes in line with the Home Office regulations to HR Team where applicable.
- With HR Team Coordinator, sending out offer documentation and making sure screening/referencing requirements are met.
Generalist HR
- Production of the annual Gender Pay Gap report.
- Liaising with Compliance on the Annual Practising Certificate Renewal.
- Producing and filing of Plld return to HMRC.
- Organise bi-monthly benefits presentation to new joiners and ensure slides are up to date.
- Produce quarterly exit interview analysis where appropriate.
- Populate Objective Manager with exit interview feedback where appropriate for all fee earners and business services employees.
- Assist with monitoring the HR inbox and allocating tasks as appropriate.
- Assist with monthly payroll processing with other two HR Advisors, ensuring the ADP portal is accurate and timely.
- Assist Head of HR with all partner benefits e.g. new joiners to BUPA, annual renewal of partner benefits, invoicing and end of year reconciliation.
- Assist HR Business Partners with any disciplinary, grievance or performance related issues.
- Input data onto Cascade (HR Information System) and produce regular ad hoc management information reports, including but not limited to sickness, turnover, retention etc.
- Provide support to the team on all projects and initiatives.
- Any other duties reasonably requested by the HR Business Partners or Head of HR.

Skills
- CIPD qualified with 3+ years’ experience.
- Proficient in use of MS Office (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Previous experience of HR Systems beneficial, desirable experience of Cascade.
- Previous experience of payroll would be desirable, but training will be given.
- Excellent administration, organisational and prioritisation skills with ability to manage time efficiently.
