Owen Reed is looking for a Private Client Solicitor for a top law firm.

Due to recent growth, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Private Client Solicitor to join a well-established and expanding team. This is a full-time position offering high-quality work across a broad range of private client matters. The role will suit a Private Client Solicitor who is confident managing their own caseload and delivering exceptional client care.

This is a client-facing role, requiring a Private Client Solicitor who can communicate with sensitivity, discretion and professionalism.

The Role

As a Private Client Solicitor, you will advise clients on a wide range of private client matters, managing files from instruction through to completion while maintaining the highest standards of service.

Key Responsibilities

• Advising clients on private client matters including wills, trusts and estate administration

• Managing estate administration matters, including probate and intestacy cases

• Applying for grants of representation and preparing associated inheritance tax returns

• Drafting wills and lasting powers of attorney (both property & financial affairs and health & welfare)

• Handling Court of Protection deputyship matters

• Drafting and reviewing legal documents in line with relevant legislation and best practice

• Managing a varied caseload efficiently while maintaining excellent client care

• Liaising with third parties such as financial institutions, HMRC, and other solicitors

• Negotiating on behalf of clients to achieve favourable outcomes where appropriate

• Advising on tax implications and estate planning strategies

• Keeping up to date with legislative changes affecting private client law

About You

• Qualified Private Client Solicitor with experience across core private client matters

• Proven experience in probate, estate administration and inheritance tax

• Strong drafting skills for wills, LPAs and related documentation

• Confident, empathetic and professional client-facing manner

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters effectively

• Proactive, detail-oriented and able to work well under pressure

• Solid understanding of private client legislation and best practice
